HOW YOU CAN HELP

RSPCA - how you can help RSPCA - how you can help RSPCA - how you can help

You can help us through various ways of raising fund or by volunteering your time to help us feed, house and care for our animals until they are found loving new homes.

Fundraising and donations

This is so important for the future of the Branch - without funds our work cannot continue. Although we work within the rules, policies and guidlines of the national RSPCA, we are actually a separately registered charity and responsible for our own funding and for managing local animal welfare work. We rely on public donations and the generosity of the community to help our local animals so we have a never-ending drive to raise funds to ensure we can continue to help as many animals as possible.

You can help us to raise funds by:

Volunteering

Note: All volunteers must be aged 18yrs or over to meet our insurance requirements.

Home Visitors

Before we rehome our animals we visit prospective adopters to ensure they are fully aware of the needs of that animal and the responsibility they are taking on. The role also includes visiting the homes of potential adopters and answering any questions they might have about the animal they wish to adopt. A good knowledge of caring for dogs, cats and other animals with the ability to pass on your knowledge to members of the public in a constructive manner will be a distinct advantage.

Dog Walkers

Kennels are located just outside of Nantwich so ideally you will be living in close proximity to limit your travelling distance. For dog walkers, all training is provided.

Dog Transporters

Kennels are located just outside of Nantwich so ideally you will be living in close proximity to limit your travelling distance. For dog transportation, ideally you will have access to a dog guard for your car although this is not a necessity. Transportation is required during normal working hours (9am-5pm, Mon to Fri).

Poster Distribution

Maybe you could promote our branch at your work. You never know, perhap someone you work with is looking to adopt a cat or dog or is looking for something to do this weekend or somewhere to go. They may not have heard of our branch and the rehoming work that we do or how important our fund raising efforts are to us.

Please use the following link to download our posters and either e-mail it around at work or print it off and display it on one of your notice boards.

Other volunteer roles

There are many other ways you could help. Some of the roles are identified below. If you are interested in any of the activities, please do not hesitate to contact us.

So whether you are retired or just looking to fill a few hours each week during or after work in aid of a good cause, please get in touch by calling 07817 360497 or email.

Work Experience

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept volunteers for work experience as we use private boarding kennels.

If you are interested in work experience, the Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre / Cattery may be able to help. Please have a look at their information leaflet. You can then contact them by email.

Membership

By becoming a member of the national Society you also become a member of your local branch. This means that you can be considered for election to the branch committee as a trustee of the Branch and you will also be invited to our Annual General Meeting. Visit the national RSPCA site for more information about membership.
